For more than 25 years I have dedicated my talents to educating my patients about the proactive value of supplementation in their diets and helping them to achieve and maintain superior health and wellness in their lives.
After medical school and post-graduate training, my focus was primarily on preventive health care. At that time, in the world of U.S. healthcare, preventive medicine was talked about a great deal, yet there was little action. Truth be told, virtually all training programs emphasized disease care, rather than wellness and prevention. This meant that individuals like me had to constantly re-educate patients, colleagues and insurance companies, especially about the need for supplements that were not considered “mainstream.”
The turning point in my medical practice was when two patients were placed on heart transplant lists. I was in charge of keeping them “healthy” until transplant time. Desperate people do desperate things and each of these patients started taking high-dose supplements of CoQ10 without telling me. Within three months both had improved so dramatically that they were removed from the transplant lists. From then on, I started taking a closer look at supplementation as well as re-evaluating conventional teachings about B12, thyroid hormones, female hormone replacement therapy and more.
I truly believe that the core of a good physician is the ability to prevent poor health and all the complications it can bring. I would rather spend time preventing a heart attack, than deal with the slow decline that follows after one. Jokingly I tell patients I am a lazy bum at heart because keeping a patient healthy is a lot less work than trying to keep them alive after the fact.
When I found ARIIX, it felt to me as if I had finally found home after over 20 years of medical practice. I believe that nutritional supplements are essential to health and wellness. Restoriix intrigued me when I first learned about it, and on looking into the science behind it, I quickly came to admire the fact that ARIIX doesn’t just say their products are science driven; the scientific principles they are using are the same scientific principles I had learned in the treatment of various medical conditions. We have, in Restoriix, a product that uses hard, proven scientific principles to take the concept of detoxification and cleansing and place them on solid scientific footing.
The same scientific rigor applied to the Puritii system also gave me that “AHA!” moment. A company that uses the best science, to produce the best products that I could talk about with utmost confidence. This philosophy was one I could embrace with a passion.
Lastly, Slenderiiz. I was fortunate in that I always had an exercise habit. Playing soccer at the high school, collegiate and pro level, track and road racing were activities I pursued when I was younger. In later years I transitioned to coaching soccer, eventually earning a Premier Diploma from the NSCAA (National Soccer Coaches Association of America). Unfortunately, two injuries in 2009 put an end to that, and for the first time in my life, I could not ‘burn’ calories fast enough to keep the weight off. I was already eating a healthy, low-glycemic diet so I started restricting calories but still the weight came on, then I developed GERD. I reluctantly bought new pants, new belts, and resigned myself to the slow increase in weight that is so typical of that situation. When I started Slenderiiz, the weight came off almost magically. Interestingly, I am now at a weight below what I was before my injuries. I know without a doubt that Slenderiiz works.
ARIIX’s mission of unleashing the human potential for good struck a chord with me from the very beginning. I am excited for the opportunity to influence not only product options, but product development as well. And, as a member of the ARIIX Wellness Council, to be a part of the paradigm shift in the management of patient health and wellness in conventional medical practices.
